Why this matters

Cold rooms, rising bills, and a boiler that is starting to worry you

An ageing boiler costs money quietly: through reduced efficiency, poor radiator balance, and the constant threat of a winter breakdown. Or you may be in a property without central heating at all, relying on electric heaters and rising winter bills. Either way, the right upgrade transforms daily comfort. Done well, it is a fifteen-year investment. Done badly, it is a source of problems from day one.

What you get

Reliable heat, good controls, and running costs you understand

  • A correctly sized, high-efficiency boiler matched to your home's actual heat demand

  • Heating that responds quickly and evenly: no more cold spots and constant thermostat fiddling

  • Gas Safe install, manufacturer warranty registered the same day, tidy pipework throughout

  • For first-time central heating: a complete system designed for the property, with radiators, pipework, boiler and controls

Our approach

Survey-first boiler replacement and full central heating design

We assess the whole system, not just the box on the wall. Existing pipework condition, radiator sizing, flue routing, water pressure, and the controls you actually want to use, all checked before we recommend a specific boiler.

Gas Safe engineers, every install

Gas Safe registered, personally certified for the gas work they do. Company registration 921521, verifiable on the Gas Safe Register.

Correct sizing every time

Oversized boilers cycle constantly, wearing out faster and wasting gas. We size based on actual room-by-room heat loss, not square-footage rules of thumb.

Smart thermostats included

Hive, Nest, or Tado as standard, properly configured at install so you actually use the features you paid for.

Power-flush when it is warranted

We magnetic-check every existing system before we replace a boiler. Power-flush where it will make a real difference, not as a default upsell.

How it works

  1. 1

    Phone triage

A five-minute call to understand your current setup, what is going wrong, and whether a survey is worth booking. Sometimes the answer is a repair or a service, not a replacement.

  2. 2

    Home survey

A Gas Safe engineer visits, checks the existing system, tests pressure and flow, reviews flue options, and asks what controls you actually want. Typically an hour on site.

  3. 3

    Fixed quote, itemised

Within two working days: boiler model, flue kit, thermostat, any system upgrades (magnetic filter, power-flush, radiator valves), and the total fixed price. Warranty terms explained in plain English.

  4. 4

    Installation

One to two days for a straight swap, three to five days for first-time central heating. Dust sheets throughout, Gas Safe certificate issued on completion, manufacturer warranty registered before we leave.

  5. 5

    Handover and aftercare

Walk-through of every control, first-year service included as standard, and a named contact for any question afterwards. Servicing reminders sent annually.

Our signature honesty

Where we won’t fit it

If your property would be genuinely better served by a heat pump (good fabric, decent emitters, clear outside space), we’ll say so, and we’ll walk you through the BUS-grant route honestly. If the existing pipework is badly undersized and a new boiler would just mask the underlying problem, we’ll scope the remedial pipework into the quote, not shrug. And if a power-flush alone would probably fix what’s wrong, we’ll tell you that before selling you a new boiler. An unnecessary install is a more expensive service call than the honest one.

Key benefits

Up to 10-year manufacturer warranty

Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, and Viessmann partners, giving you access to extended warranties not available through online-quote installers.

A-rated efficiency, properly commissioned

Modern condensing boilers recover heat from flue gases. But efficiency depends on flow temperature and controls. We commission yours to actually achieve its rated figures.

Smart controls that work from day one

Thermostat paired, zones configured, schedules set up with you, not just left for you to figure out from the app.

Honest repair-vs-replace advice

If your boiler has another five good years in it, we will tell you. We do not earn commission from selling boilers you do not need.

The certifications behind this work

For this service specifically, we operate under the following industry accreditations. Each one has passed audit and is verifiable with the issuing body.

  • Gas Safe Register
  • NAPIT
  • Worcester Bosch Accredited
  • Vaillant Advance

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I need a replacement or a repair?+

Age (over fifteen years), reliability (more than one breakdown per winter), efficiency (SEDBUK below 85%), parts availability, and safety (any amber or red flags on service) are the key factors. We will never recommend replacement over repair when repair is the better long-term value.

Combi, system, or regular: which is right for me?+

Combi boilers suit smaller homes with one bathroom. System boilers with a cylinder suit larger homes or properties with high simultaneous hot water demand (two showers running, for example). Regular (heat-only) boilers suit older properties with existing cold water tanks and gravity-fed systems. We design around your actual hot water demand, not a default.

What does first-time central heating cost?+

For a typical three-bed house with no existing pipework, a full first-time central heating installation (boiler, pipework, radiators, thermostat, flue) is usually in the £5,500–£8,500 range depending on property size and complexity. We provide a fixed price at survey. No subsequent surprises.

Do I need a power-flush?+

Only if your system is actually contaminated, which we check with a magnetic filter during survey. Power-flushing a clean system is a waste of your money. We flush where it is warranted and fit a magnetic filter as standard on every install to protect the new boiler going forward.

Is 0% finance available?+

Yes. We offer 24 or 36 month 0% finance on installations over £1,500, subject to credit check. The finance provider is a regulated UK lender and the process is entirely online. No early repayment penalties.

Should I consider a heat pump instead?+

For most homes with a reasonable EPC and some insulation, yes. A heat pump is the lower-cost, lower-carbon choice in the medium term, and the £7,500 BUS grant makes the upfront gap smaller than you might expect. We will tell you honestly whether your property suits one before taking a boiler order. See our heat pump page for details.

1 Anonymised survey of 200 post-install repair cases UK-wide, 2024–2025. Not exhaustive. Indicative only.

If you're optimising for the lowest possible 10-year cost on a gas combi and your property is simple, an online-first installer may be the right choice. What they won't give you is the same-engineer accountability if something goes wrong in year three, or a written survey before install, or any meaningful advice if a heat pump would have been a better decision. If those things don't matter to you, we're not your best choice. If they do, we are.

When we'd tell you no

The boilers we've talked people out of.

Most boiler installs are straightforward. A few aren't. We've learned that when the maths doesn't work, nothing compensates for fitting the wrong kit in the wrong home.

We'd usually advise against a new gas boiler when:

  • Your home is a strong heat pump candidate and you're planning to stay 5+ years. A new combi now locks you into another decade of gas. Our Instant Quote tool will flag this automatically, or talk to us on the phone.
  • Your existing boiler is under 10 years old and just needs a power-flush. Roughly 30% of “replace my boiler” enquiries we see are actually “replace the controls and clean the system” jobs in disguise. We'd rather save you three grand.
  • The property can't accommodate the flue routing safely. Very rare, but we won't cut corners on regulations to fit a boiler.
  • You're planning to convert a loft or extend in the next 12 months. A new boiler might end up needing to be moved. Worth a conversation about timing.

In every case, if we say no to your first ask, we'll say yes to the right alternative.
