Why Smart Energie

You deserve an installer you can actually trust

A home upgrade is a real decision. Real money. Your actual home. A team of people you're inviting through the front door for days at a time. That deserves a company that plays it straight from the first phone call to the final handover — and is still picking up the phone five years later.

We start with your house, not our product range. We measure what it's losing, study how you actually use it, and only then talk about what to fit and in what order. Sometimes that means we recommend a smaller, cheaper job than you were expecting. Sometimes it means waiting six months until a different measure makes more sense. We can afford to do that because we're built for the long view, not the next sale.

What you get from us is a written plan in plain English, a price that matches the invoice, engineers who care about how the job looks at the end of day three as much as day one, and aftercare that's a phone call away — not a ticketing system. That's the bar. We hold it on every job, whether it's a single condensing boiler in a Birmingham terrace or a 500-property programme for a metropolitan council.

Where we can help

Four upgrades. Four disciplines. One standard.

We focus on the four upgrades that make the biggest difference to a UK home — and we approach each one as its own discipline, with the right survey, design and install approach it deserves.

  • 01Boilers & Central Heating

Heating you can stop thinking about.

A new boiler should be a quiet, reliable upgrade you install once and forget about. Sized correctly for your home, fitted cleanly, and commissioned properly — so the radiators get warm when you want them to and the hot water arrives on demand.

  • 02Air Source Heat Pumps

When done right, it's the best heating decision you'll ever make.

A heat pump in the right home, designed properly, delivers consistent warmth, much lower emissions, and quiet efficiency for fifteen to twenty years. In the wrong home, it's a regret. We'll tell you honestly which story yours is heading for before spending a penny.

  • 03Solar PV & Battery Storage

Generate your own. Store what you don't need now. Use it when it's expensive.

A properly designed UK system now generates 3,500–5,500 kWh a year. Add a sensibly sized battery and you shift low-cost or self-generated power into the evenings, when life happens and tariffs peak. We design around your real bills — not the maximum the roof can take.

  • 04Insulation Solutions

The highest-return upgrade most UK homes can make.

Insulation is where the biggest savings usually live — and where the worst mistakes most often get made. We treat it as a building-physics discipline and break the work into five proper specialisms: loft, cavity wall, solid wall (internal or external), underfloor and draught-proofing. Each handled by people who do that exact work every week.

Want the full picture on any of these — the survey process, the real-world costs, what to expect on the day, the bits we'd advise against?

Our track record speaks for itself

Every figure on this page is auditable. Ask us and we'll show you the workings.

Years in the industry

Founded 2010. Fifteen winters of doing the work, learning what lasts, and not repeating yesterday's mistakes.

Homes upgraded

From a single boiler swap to whole-house deep retrofit, across private, social and sheltered housing.

In customer energy savings

Cumulative reported savings vs. pre-retrofit bills, drawn from real customer data — not modelled estimates.

0 t

CO₂ reduced

Roughly the annual emissions of 740 cars taken off UK roads. We track every tonne.

What customers say

Real homes. Real people. Five-year reputations, not five-star reviews.

We don't filter testimonials, and we don't ask people to write them within twenty-four hours of handover. These are customers who came back to us months later because the work held up.

They told me to sort the loft insulation before we talked about a heat pump. That single sentence was why I hired them. No one else had suggested the cheaper job first.

Public sector

Trusted by councils, housing associations and major utilities

Alongside our private-homeowner work, we deliver compliant whole-house retrofit programmes for local authorities, housing associations and utility-led schemes — and have done so since the early days of the UK's domestic energy efficiency push. Our delivery has helped utility companies meet their statutory obligations, helped Ofgem progress its decarbonisation aims, and helped public-sector clients pass every audit they've put us through. Quietly, consistently, on time.
